Rumors K is looking for a JV with Belo Sun

I heard that Kinross are looking for a JV with Belo Sun Mining (BSX). Volta Grande mine will be the largest open pit in Brazil. I hope it happens because I'm a shareholder of both companies. That will give Kinross more geographical diversity.

Belo Sun's deposit seems to be pretty good.  They have a lot of shares outstanding.  The hardest thing for gold mining companies is replacing reserves.

The Belo Sun deposit is not super high grade, so it must be open pittable.  I did not look to see if a PEA has been performed.  As long as the gold price remains firm and even goes up a couple hundred dollars to the mid 1900 price range we will be alright.    If I was the Kinross CEO I would pretend gold was $1450 in my head to treat the profits above that with great care in ...more
