I am a native Californian who has lived directly through large earthquakes and been close enough to extremely large earthquakes and seen the massive, billion dollar damage, caused by these earthquakes. That the mine was so close to the epicenter and had no serious damage is astounding and demonstrates the very good design criteria that has been used by management. It shows the durability of the existing rock and the good design.
