With potash so high why would these guys not take on a partner. 10 percent of something is better than 100 percent of nothing.

hf, locking up a massive resource in a stable environment has been thought to be by many as GSFC's ultimate goal. That box has been checked, and the deposit isnt going anywhere whether it is mined tomorrow or in the next century, and I am confident advanced downhole technology will have transpired by then as well. Western sanctions against Russia and Belarus doesnt mean those massive mines ...more

When the technical update comes out later this month they'll have to say something about what was the purpose of doing it and then the picture of the future plans could get more clear
Comment by bigkagan on Jun 12, 2022 12:56pm
The company wouldn't pay hundreds of thousands $$ out of their meagre cash resources for this update just for the heck of it, they definitely have some plans regarding the mine
Comment by mdjbrown on Jun 12, 2022 3:14pm
bk, as another very astute poster here pointed out, this is not a start from scratch NI 43-101. It is a compliant update to the existing T.R., and you better hope beyond hope that the costs are not in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, as 2 1/2 months ago the company reported having less than a million dollars remaining in the treasury. As that poster also mentioned, updates dont usually take ...more

Well, GSP is already doing all sorts of preliminary construction there according to their latest NR. They've also raised some $280 million of credit line and as a result their market cap is at $100 mil. in spite of a big drop in SP lately. If GSP could do it KRN could do it too
Comment by mdjbrown on Jun 13, 2022 10:28am
bk, GSP is a completely different animal than KRN, but are similiar in the fact that the technology both corporations are hoping to implement has not been proven viably economical in Saskatchewan yet.  Add Western to that mix as well. I believe the techniques will be proven viable economically at some point, but havnt to date. Krn's production model is based on the same mining ...more

Speaking of magnesium, do they have enough of the Mg concentration for a profitable production mine? Magnesium is the third-most-commonly-used structural metal, following iron and aluminium.[42] The main applications of magnesium are, in order: aluminium alloys, die-casting (alloyed with zinc),[43] removing sulfur in the production of iron and steel ...more

bk, in 2017, mag testing was conducted where it was determined:  "Further confirmation will be required, in the form of a continuous scaled-up pilot test that will be performed concurrently with a feasibility study in the future." https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/karnalyte-resources-inc-announces-completion-of-magnesium-testing-662360173.html

Good. I've never heard of a purely magnesium mine, it's probably being produced as a by-product of other minerals
Comment by mdjbrown on Jun 14, 2022 9:19pm
bk, the Wynyard property was originally leased for the magnesium potential, and the KCl was the added bonus. Both the mag and the KCl brine is extracted together, so a double whammy if the processing facilities for both are up and running. Maybe the person who bought the bulk chemical containers of carnalitte brine at the Karnalyte auction can run some further testing https://mcdougallbay.com ...more

So sad.... 99+% Mgo potential. I heard plates and rods. The potential of the resource will be realized one day .... keeping the shares for my grandchildren.

You got that right T33     The lost opportunity will haunt shareholders forever, and all to chase a nitrogen scheme that had no chance, but ended up costing shareholders dearly.............. Magnesium potential, Carnalitte potential, and the powers that be in 2018 snubbed their nose at the very real potential to be the first sylvite horizontal selective solution miner in ...more

So what the heck are you both still doing here if it's over, crying over spilled milk? That's all in the past, let's wait and see what will be the news next week

bk, you must be fairly new to investing, but shareholders are still here for many reasons. I cant speak on behalf of hf or any other shareholder, but I am still here to fulfill a promise made to several very confused shareholders on May 26, 2018, and I fully intend to keep that promise. So to say historical events that took place in the past, is as much to say those events are still a very real ...more

You yourself just pointed out 2 new mines being developed, one in SK and another in Manitoba, so why can't we be the third. I think they can walk and chew gum at the same time
Comment by mdjbrown on Jun 19, 2022 7:16pm
bk, it might be in your best interests to do some homework if you have any money invested here.  Completely different processes, none of which have been proven economically viable yet in Canada and the other 2 have financial backers for further testing. Nothing to do with walking and chewing. Science and geology is what it is, and they have been trying to solve that riddle for 60 years..... ...more

They should build a mine for Mg and not potash because there will be an oversupply of potash soon due to these 2 new mines plus the impending huge BHP mine in SK In building the world’s largest potash mine in Saskatchewan, BHP pivots away from oil and gas When construction is complete and the mine goes into operation – scheduled for 2026 – Jansen, near George Gordon First Nation, will ...more

In 2016 NPV for the Mg mine was around $500 mil. at MgCl2 price of $40, Today MgCl2 price is between $130 and $260. The price of potash hasn't changed much since then BTW
Comment by mdjbrown on Jun 20, 2022 9:59am
bk, I agree with you in your belief the global potash matrix in 4 years will look considerably different than today, but I doubt these smaller niche mines will put a dent in the big players plans. As far as a stand alone magnesium mine, I dont see that ever happening as GSFC did not put $45 million on the table for a magnesium play. If the Wynyard potash project is ever started, I could see a ...more
