G-7 bans imports of Russian gold! I wonder if this will have the same effect as the sanctioning and ban of Russian oil and gas imports? That caused the price of oil and gas to skyrocket. We should know, when gold starts trading later today.

In reality there is no such thing as "Russian gold". That's one of the good things about gold. If it's in your hand it's your gold. Any gold item can be a remelt of gold from various locations. They are just playing stupid political games that are increasingly blowing up in their faces.

Germany, France and Italy appear to continue gold importing from Russia.  USA, UK, Japan and Canada will ban imports of Russian gold.  If I read Bloomberg news correctly.
