Anyone want to speculate as to why the volume and price of gold stocks, pretty much accross the board, went off the charts at the market close on Friday? This seems to have happened on both sides of the border.
Seems like an odd occurence.

Good catch Matman, I own 9 of them and about 5 of them followed that pattern,,more so on the Canadian exchange then the US.  I dont have a clue, but i can guess. ... With some of them it looked as though there was some toppy patern on tuesday and then a steady decline wednesday thru friday. Maybe one or more serious players saw a chance to short the miners in general and then covered at the ...more

There was a rebalance in the GDX and the GDXJ.
