TSX:LABS - Post Discussion

Medipharm Labs Corp > Prior to the vote on the Vivo acquisition, management

Prior to the vote on the Vivo acquisition, management

stated publicly they have the support of their 'top 100 shareholders'.   Since the Vivo vote I have removed my support for management based on the cumulative issues I have stated here including my annoucement that management no longer has my support.  I cannot speak on the behalf of others and the decisions they make.   The cumulative pool of retail shareholders has greater voting power than they realize and I merely requesting they join me in voting NO.

For decades upon decades a company when announcing a stock buy back was telling shareholders the company is undervalued.  The converse also holds true when a company states their stock is undervalued indicating a buy back.   For management to say the stock is under valued before becoming earnings per share positive is borderline sleazy.

when Pidduck made that statement in the CC i chuckled a little ......really what a non statement statement ....possibly made to make some retail shareholders feel warm a fuzzy...lol. and then what CEO would not make a statement like that or rather what CEO would ever come out in a CC and tell the world ...we think our company i overvalued?? Ha Ha  i have alway said the only way officers of ...more

Welcome back ed. I'm with you...for or withhold are the options...agree...I'm voting withhold...time to think about shareholders for once. Wtf is happining with the Hope facility...easily a 10m asset left shuttered....sell...buyback with the proceeds and start sharing info like ANDA...why is Keith saying they're preparing for epidiolex launch in the U.S?...only explanation is the ...more

No worries piduks, thats what makes these investor sites so valuable - espectful difference of opinion I dont think management are the only ones who believe Labs shareprice is undervalued as most of the anaysts also have it pegged between .10 to .18 cents. Managements comments regarding same can be coming from several angles that we may not know about.  Are they aware a firm is ...more

a buyback does increase the SP among other very important things.  Cash is king and if they are as close to breakeven as they claim, it's time to put that cash where their mouths are and do a buyback.

QC, we have already seen tens of millions of shares churn through the LABS boiler the past couple years and the shareprice has concrete shoes, so I am not sure how many shares you are thinking in an NCIB to move the needle significantly, and not watch it settle back. Buying back 25% of the float might leave these guys in a tight financial spot tight if all the potential  irons take longer ...more

a 25% buyback isn't much of anything if they will be cash flow positive as they stated.  But if you want a bit of margin, do half that.  50mil less float only helps long termers over the long term and sure as heck a lot more than some ego driven M&A scrap heap purchase.

QC, I cant recall the TSX requirements but you might know if the max NCIB is 10 or 20% of a corporations total outstanding shares which would equate to buying back approx 44 or 88 million shares. I agree 100% with alley that potential funds raised from the sale of the Hope facility could be put to better use than just having an empty site sit vacant.   Company needs to update there ...more
