Jump Ship

So today with the uncertainty of the Marihuana industry, I sold my shares of ACB. I ended up buying LEAF.  I spoke with a relation investor of LEAF to ensure i get the 3.575 ACB once the vote passes. He said the June 14th day is in relation to mail outs and I won't have a say in the vote. So i went ahead and purchased 548 @ 26.25.

I initially had 1620 ACB but sold at $8.90 which was bad timing on my part as I thought we were going down again.

I contacted ACB and they advised the Australis shares will depend on the record date that the company sets which may be before the acquisition is completed which that scenario I wouldn't get shares but if it's after the acquisation of LEAF than I would obviously get the Australis shares.

So having said all this, regardless of what LEAF does, I will get 1959 shares of ACB providing it goes forward and that being said if the share price of ACB is above $8.17 I will be in the green as my initial investment was $16000 which was 1620 shares at $9.87.

Just thought I would share for those of you thinking of switching. Right now ACB @ $9.40 which if the acquisation was complete times 1959 shares = $18414.

Yes, a real no-brainer but only if the deal goes through. No doubt the Leaf shareholders will vote for the deal, but the real question is how the Aurora shareholders will vote.  Definitely not a sure thing as this means they will have to agree to a massive share dilution of something like 400M additional ACB shares. Does anybody here have any idea when the Aurora shareholders will get to ...more

Ahhh.............they said ACB would be top dog after the Cannimed takeover and that certainly did not happen as Canopy is still way ahead of them. I would also not be so sure about the Aurora vote since (unlike Leaf which is very tightly held) I believe the company is apparently rather loosely held with no one shareholder owning more than 3% of the shares.   The best way to get the ...more
