RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:LFE sees some profittakingYou are correct, I believe we are all barking up the same tree. Mouserman is a great analytical trader, certainly better than me, and NavGod is good at shorting... something that is not in my arsenal at all.

I look for undervalued plays and wait them out. Usually works out for me. BBD is currently my biggest gainer with more to come. It certainly has not been an easy hold but I had conviction in their turnaround story. Other turnarounds for me have been in the long term care sector like EXE, CSH and SIA which I picked up for dirt during covid. Also, some restaurant plays like SRV, one that was close to bankruptcy but survived. Currently paying me a +20% tax efficient dividend. Finally, DGS... probably my best long term hold. Average below $1.50 in a TFSA paying over 1k/mth. Will never sell that one.

I have made mistakes along the way too, like cannibis and my commercial real estate bets continue to struggle. But, overall, my strategy of buying 'em unloved and cheap and waiting seems to work.

Experienced wrote: flaming.....yep.....depends on investment objectives etc of course.  A while back I bought some quality prefs like ENB and locked in a 9% dividend and enjoying an 8% capital gain and expect the capital gain to increase as interest rates go down...a great risk adjusted return in my books

i also sold my LFE earlier today in the mid 4.90s that i bought last week at 4.81....just didn't like what I was seeing wrt price action
