RE: Tin Foil Hats
RE: Tin Foil HatsIt used to be true that the idea behind gold as the only true money was that unlike fiat paper, you couldn't create gold out of thin air. Ever wonder why the edges of coins are serrated? Doing that to today's coins is a waste of money. Why? Because when coins were made of real money, gold and silver, some would shave the edges of coins. This reduced the value of the coin without reducing its purchasing power. The shavings were then used to buy more stuff and a measure of inflation was created. Serrated edges were applied to prevent this. So serrating the edges of stainless steel coins is pointless.
Today, however, is different. Someone in a high, official capacity has created more bullion out of thin air by way of gold plated TUNGSTEN bars. All official and with serial numbers. Imagine that. So why isn't anyone going to jail??
