You think Iran WANTED the instability created by the American invasion of it's nearest neighbours? Iran is sandwiched between two VERY unstable, ME countries, Iraq and Afghanistan. Both instigated by the Yanks.
Iranians remember how their first DEMOCRATICALLY elected government was overthrown and the SHAH was installed by the CIA. When the Iranian revolution came about and the Shah was thrown out, the progressive SECULAR element was betrayed and a Theocracy took over. None of that had to happen if the American's didn't meddle in Iran's affairs. And of course, just like Lybia now, it was all about the oil.
This might be another reason for the Lybia "mission".
