SAG Mill
SAG Mill Anyone out there understand how they extract the gold from the crushed slurry? My understanding is a ball mill crushes mine muck. The rod mill reduces the size of material to a finer powder. With this giant SAG Mill, my umderstanding is that a lot of "crusher sized" mine ore is dumped into the SAG Mill. This is where I'm a little weak with knowledge. My understanding is the SAG Mill uses broken muck with the aide of steel balls to reduce the muck to a powder. Will this material require further handling with a rod or ball mill ?
Where I'm going with this...this SAG Mill is a monster. The SAG will eat up many tons of mine ore with relative ease. It's like using a transport truck to deliver feathers. It was a very expensive under taking well worth the expence. Tony once talked about moving production to over 5000 tpd with equipment LSG purchased with the SAG Mill. Do we still own the equipment ? My guess it might be a rod mill to further reduce the size of feed coming from the SAG Mill. Is this point the gold extraction begins?? Now what do they do to extract the gold?
These are pretty exciting times for LSG as a producer. Most outsiders that have not followed this story may be out of touch. Their lack of interest is holding the stock down. Purhaps in the not so distant future more expansion for minimal cost will be available based on finances? This will surely enhance shareholder value.
I would appreciate any knowledgable comments to educate us longs. Thanks to All.
