If IMG were to make an attempt at the takeover of LSG, would it be possible to have a friendly takeover? If so at what price would IMG have to pay for the hypothetical "friendly takeover"

Question: why do you think Goldcorp took out Probe Mines (an undeveloped deposit, with no infrastructure) instead of Lake Shore Gold (a gold mine with good infrastructure)? I'll bet IMG is kicking themselves for not taking out LSG, instead of taking on the Trelawney Cote deposit!!
