Eira out William in

Was it Clara not succeeding or was it the underground hiccup. I think it had to be the underground , any opinions?

The underground thing is a bit serious not to have been spotted earlier. I don't think the Clara situation has played out yet. An announcement about that could come any time. PS  I got the wrong impression from this statement about the changeover:- Lucara Diamond Corp. announces the intention to appoint William Lamb as the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer ...more

So is Eira still on the payroll then?

Definitively underground 18 months dely + significantly increased cost. But I think the worst by far is the late re-financing which in worst case might result in the banks taking ownership of the Karowe mine.

It was unforgivable for Lucara not having put funds aside for the underground, but that decision pre dates eiras tenure .

Does anyone think the delay and costs were foreseen?

They obviously didn't but they should have . More water than anticipated !. It's their job to anticipate and make arrangements to cover all eventualities

And next weeks lottery numbers are......

Imagine a mine costing more than first anticipated  !    The ones that come in on time and on budget are the rarities.  Don't need to be a genius to have a contingency plan .

Give us those lottery numbers. lol

What has lottery numbers got to do with not having a contingency plan ?
