RE: On NVS vaccine divestitureWhen one company buys another company they buy all the obligation and or assets and liabilities. Therefore the new company is now responsible (if the deal goes through). However, I suspect that the buyer would negotiate a clause within the deal, that would require the impending lawsuit to be settled, or a correct dollar amount set aside as a liabiltiy to the company.
I personally think that Novartis will settle this as quickly as possible, or their deal with the new company will be terminated, basically they would rather settle with cash, rather than to tie this issue up in court and watch their impending deal with CVS be terminated.
All in my humble opinion.
