There are surely Montney wells which have faster construction, greater payouts, who lack the existential question-marks over their long-term solvency. IMO, it is still too early to expect they'd be able to secure an expansion plan, given that oil price remains supported by merely OPEC assurances.
IF THERE WAS an ongoing deal being negotiated with a JV to fund expansion, would shareholders only find out at the announcement? Would it be reasonable to expect mangement to inform its shareholders that its actively seeking opportunities to secure funds for expansion?
If yes, then there is no imminent deal. If not, then its possible.
Speculating aside, the 4Q16 quarterly report will be out in a couple weeks. Maybe some hints can be gleaned therein.
I guess we will find out, is it a deal or are they looking for a deal.
my guess is they made a royalty deal for 100-200 million which will help them increase produciton but also split the profits.
good guessing riskman
