RE: RE: RE: Hoping against all odds

The consolation is $18.40 is not bad, because over the last 16 months, the total amount of MFC shares
traded under $19.00 is about 37% out of the total number of outstanding shares.

This 37% is made up of daytraders, shares crossing over, etc.
Therefore the actual amout of sell-off under $19.00 is only a small percentage.

MFC was Bill Carrigan top pick last night on market call tonight.

Can someone explain, why MFC had to write off $1.5B on Bond interest rate re mark to market CGAAP?
because there is no way they can lose money investing in Bonds

Globe and Mail Update

I find it truly amazing to see how many pundits refer to the bond market as if it is in some sort of a bubble. How can a security whose price is constantly projected to decline by the economics community be in a bubble? How can any asset class be in a bubble where the capital is guaranteed and which pays out a coupon twice a year. It makes no sense
