this was when it was filed

The EPA asks for more time due to the varying nature of the petitions, remember that the joint petition was 40-ish pages written by a paid lawyer.

#12 - 04/07/2017 - Region 9 Response to Petition for Review (39 additional attachments)

After that there was some sort of oral argument that was to be presented to the board, and the petitioners challenged the verdict (and lost in the end)

This is Tasekos version of what has happened

They have thrown A LOT of resources to fight the copper project, nothing like this has happened to excelsior because it is not located near or inside a town like florence. They had lawyers bogging things down. This was an actualy town throwing resources at the problem, Excelsior is not up against the town of dragoon (much much smaller than Florence)

So far we have one petition that we assume will be dismissed because it does not likely meet the standard that is required for a review

So it took 3 months for the verdict and it was challenged both on a technical (gila indian river community) and a legal basis (town of florence and a real estate developer via paid lawyers)

I am not that familiar with the case, just did some quick reading but excelsior is nowhere near the level of attacks that taseko had to go through

If that letter is dismissed, then there will be no more delay?  i.e. August 1st, the effective date of the UIC permit will kick in and MIN is ok to start construction?  (presumably, financing is ready to be announced soon after).
