Simple math says MOZ is higher today than it was Sept 1st

Sept 1st the total outstanding shares were 257 Million. Closing price that day was $1.38. Total market cap =  $354 Million..

Today even though the SP closed @ 92 cents, the total outstanding shares have increased to 394 million, making MOZ's total market cap cap s362 Million..

So even though the SP might be down over 40% from Sept 1st, the total market cap @ 92 cents a share is still higher today than it was Sept 1st.

Sept 1st's market cap of $354 million would make MOZ SP today 90 cents.

This concludes today's Math lesson..

You are forgetting to account for 2 things. People in the know sold it down to 1.38 cause they knew about pp and the 150 million is sitting cash in there account so when you do the calculations you can't account for the new os and not the cash received for them because that means your are saying moz gave 136 million shares for free. You need to deduct the 150 million from the 362 you got and ...more

Sacks, I'm not forgetting anything. Market cap has nothing to do with debt or cash in the bank. To calculate a company's market cap you have to have to multiply the number of outstanding shares by the current market value of ONE share. That's all. It's simple arithmetic. Look it up. GL.

Market cap is simply the market price of a share multiplied by number of outstanding share. You cannot determine whether a company is under or overvalued from market cap unless you take cash in hand, debt, or assets into account. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------anone making an investment decision cannot simply look at market cap to make a decision ...more

Sacks,  I suggest you go read my initial post again. Everything you're saying is totally irrelevant to my post. Company A, B, or C has nothing to do with what I said. Market cap is simple arithmetic. Total shares multiped by current SP. THAT'S ALL!! Nothing else is considered.  Has nothing to do with cash or debt. I never mentioned what MOZ would be worth in a buyout, how much ...more

rixpix You are missing the point ie your original post had no point.  I am pretty sure everyone knows what market cap is so other than that what was the point of the post?  Just a confusing post!

If my initial post had no point, why bother replying to it??? I never reply to posts that have no point.  I just move on. There's nothing confusing about simple arithmetic.. Today MOZ @ 90 cents has the same market cap as it did Sept 1st at 1.38. I'm done. Enjoy your day.  GL

Stating market cap doesn't say much unless followed but a conclusion if it's under or overvalued that's what we are saying.

Rixpix That is one stupid useless posts I have ever read. My wife ask me how my shares are performing. Didn't want her to know I couldn't pay the mortgage so I told her the market cap is higher. Who cares she said what is the share price at and how much are you down. Heck even my wife realized that was a stupid meaningless statement.

If you don't understand market cap and need to use your wife and mtg to get a point across, I suggest you get out of the market, or start buying bonds.  There's always one on every board! At least one!! SMH!

Simple math also indicates existing shareholders prior to the latest equity raise now: - own less of a % of the company than they did before the raise. - have a larger paper loss than they did before the raise. If you think 1.10 per unit (1 share + 1/2 warrant) was full value at the time of the raise, then you should be OK with it. If not, then shareholder dilution would be the conclusion ...more
