In August 2022 Mission Council unanimously adopted
the Central Neighbourhood Plan. The Central Neighbourhood Plan provides the framework for the phased
development of a comprehensively-planned community
of over 10,000 homes for 25,000 residents, and serves
as a guide for managing future rezoning and subdivision
applications.
Since last summer Polygon has been working with the
City of Mission Engineering Department to determine
how we can extend services to our first community
within the Central Neighbourhood Plan.
In conjunction with our servicing design work, Polygon
has been working with the City of Mission Planning
Department to establish zoning for the first community
that will provide for a variety of land uses generally in
accordance with the Central Neighbourhood Plan.
We have recently filed our rezoning and subdivision
applications that, once approved, will grant us the ability
to start site servicing in early 2024. This will allow municipal
services and spine roads to be extended to, and
throughout the first community.
Once services and zoning are in place, the initial
neighbourhood will offer a variety of housing types at a
range of values for future residents. Not only will this
add adding housing diversity to Mission but, for many
individuals and families, this will provide an opportunity
to enter the housing market and own their first home.
