Plausible explanation of selloff: Canadia Capital Gains Tax

Plausible explanation of selloff: Canadia Capital Gains TaxWe have seen a massive selloff in many Canadian companies owing to the rollout of the new Canadian capital gains tax rates (which I believe were just rolled out).

It is plausible that this recent selloff of Nano One stock was owing to investors who wanted to avoid getting hit with the significantly increased capital gains taxes.

If so, then this period is in fact an excellent opportunity to accumulate.  Not sure if this is the actual reason behind the selloff.  But would be a fantastic explanation if true.
