Nevada Copper Corp is a Canada-based mining company. The Company is engaged in the development, operation, and exploration of its copper project (the Project) at its Pumpkin Hollow Property (the Property) in Western Nevada, United States of America. Its two fully permitted projects include the high-grade Underground Mine and processing facility, which is undergoing a restart of operations, and a large-scale open pit PFS stage project. The Property is located in northwestern Nevada and consists of approximately 24,300 acres of contiguous mineral rights including approximately 10,800 acres of owned private land and leased patented claims. Pumpkin Hollow is located approximately 8 miles southeast of the small town of Yerington, Nevada in Lyon County, one- and one-half hours drive southeast of Reno. The Company’s wholly owned subsidiary is Nevada Copper, Inc.

RE:Carpetbaggers Delight - Gold N Solar N Nevada GoldNo one is questioning Barrick's Nevada gold properties.  What is especially worrisome is Barrick’s large copper and gold dependence upon African mines in unstable sociopolitical countries such as DRC, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Zambia.  Other Barrick properties that are environmentally vulnerable to extreme weather include Chile and possibly their Argentina mine as well.
 
While the risks of mining have long been an important consideration for investors, the risk of weather-related disruptions of the civic order or damage to transportation system relatively new and needs to be understood.  I like AEM because of its conservative mgt. and the “safe’ location of producing assets.  It’s our choice to make, we can apply what we’ve learned about the risks imposed by climate change or we can ignore it at our own peril.
