Those ignorant of U.S. history might believe that you are making a valid point about the historic record of the Democratic and Republican parties. I have no intent to educate you or any of your low life hypocrites about American political history, since you failed to learn it when offered in public school, but any suggestion that the political leanings of either party 170 years ago is indicative of their ideology today is childishly ridiculous. I would suggest that YOU study the history of this nation over the last 150 years, and then maybe you won’t continue to be misled by faded political labels.
The truth is that the Republican party of the 19th century was start of a progressive movement that represented working men and women; and which pursued a program of civil and economic rights culminating with the candidacy of Teddy Roosevelt in his third party bid for the presidency.
