Granted they all talk their book but one thing I notice is that Jerome tends to make his comments personal like his personal experience rather than just an objective analysis of the company....
To be honest, and on second thought, I'd have to concur with your thoughts on Jerome.
I've always thought Jerome was a bit of a jerk. His demeanor and arrogance are somewhat of a turn-off, especially considering that he has a poor track record on some of his pair trades, and gets quite defensive when the Market Call hosts question him on some of his bad picks... so I stopped watching him.
In fact, I only watch a handful of guests on BNN, as most just talk their book. Guests like David Burrows and also Stephen Takacsy do tend to have a record of picking winners, though, and I like listening to Burrows for his stock-market wisdom, along with Keith Richards for some technical knowledge (Can't stomach Don Vialoux, though... he's too much of a space cadet). The rest of the guests are just doing a 60-minute infomercial for their wealth management firm, it seems... like how many times can one listen to the same question about whether BMO's dividend is safe?
Lately, I find Market Call is hard to watch as Catherine Murray seems to be the only host who has any sort of financial sense, and she's the only one who seems to be able to ask relevant questions, but she's only on a few days a week. I stream some of her interviews with CEOs, however. Andrew Bell and Michael Hainsworth are both idiots who don't seem to have much financial knowledge and can be somewhat embarrassing to watch at times. I'm surprised that BNN didn't let them go when they had that shake up last fall.
