Stockchase After the Close

The U.S. 10-year yield ticked down to 4.495%, but stocks were mixed in New York while Toronto continued to fade. The S&P closed on Wednesday flat, up four points, as was the Nasdaq, adding only 10. Meanwhile, the Dow finished at -0.12%. 

Sectors were mixed though communications suffered serious losses as Paramount Global Discover sank nearly 8% and Warner Brothers Discovery plunged 19%. Elsewhere, Intel closed at -2.19% and Take-Two Interactive rallied 5.21%. Bitcoinadded 0.39% to $35,500.

The TSX closed -0.23%, also with sectors mixed. Industrials and staples were up, but materials and energy sank lower. Key movers on Bay Street: Nuvei surged nearly 20%, Baytex -3.64%, CNQ -2.02%, Suncor -1.84% and Intact popped 4.7%. WTI sank 2.5% to $75.50 a barrel.
