FYI Kairos talks about a flat/tabular body of mineralization that has developed at the contact between mafic rocks AND undiferentiated sediments, which include conglomerates. They are saying that adjacent to the mineralized orebody there is gold in both footwall (mafics) and hangingwall (sediments). 

Btw it is logical to find some hydrothermal gold in conglomerates as they are permeable / porous in comparison with the other rocks so mineralized fluids were able to penetrate them and deposit their load when pressure, temperature or chemistry changed..

Again this is not Novo-style gold nuggets in paleo-conglomerates but hardrock gold hosted by different types of roskc that are either in contact or cut by mineralization.
