These grades are NOT supportive of an underground mining operation. Wits grades are 3-4 times larger than that. And continuous (the presence of fine gold helps). And easy to follow underground - here you can see a lack of a marker horizon as disclosed in the nr. There is only limited tonnage that can be mined in an open pit. Conglomerates go deeper in the basin. But there is much more than that against Novo running a successful mining op.
