My path forward?
Same as the rest of us. Digital currency is not coming. It's HERE now. How many times do you use paper or coin to purchase something?
What we are discussing is not the presence of digital currency. We are actually discussing the likelihood of its complete and full spectrum dominance. With no practical alternatives allowed outside the system. It's actually easy to implement, and well underway.
We are currently in a state of historic transition. The path forward is being dominated by technology networks happily being adopted by governments towards there own means. We are are also volunteering to the accept these same solutions. You know - convenience, access, speed, etc.
Gold can act as an transitioning anchor to legitimize the whole concept of a nation's or trading block's digital monetary system. It probably has to for now. But once it becomes fully implemented and we are fully dependent, does gold really have value anymore?
I don't know in the end. All I know is that I purchased a Sportster out here in Japan that is the quintessential definition of last century's technology. I could only purchase it with a money transfer from a bank. No physical Cash payment not accepted.
Purchase completed in minutes. Flawlessly. Taxes included.
