Could be that the average trading price needs to be close to 7.00 to provide a reasonable premium should a takeover take place?  As premiums are often 20-30% over the average trading price in the preceeding period, this could be the cause of seeing available shares at around 7.00.  I could be wrong of course, but thought I would throw this in....

What do you see as a reasonable takeout price? I think 10 psychological round double-digit number.   If they lowball they may try then firm it up by 0.75.  They can also cut the dividend to get the SP lower but not sure management can act in that manner as it screams manipulation

If there is to be a takeover, then I don't see the dividend being changed at this point. As for a potential price I see RBC with a NAV of 10.50 (NWH published a 12.55 NAV) but I don't quite see a buyer paying a full NAV.  Consensus share price forecasts as published for 5 analysts by TD is $8.47. So, with available data, I see a value between $8.50 and $9.10 being 20% and 30 ...more

Unitholders need to vote and I don't think 8s will pass or even 9.  Close to 10 is fair game.  Assets are irreplaceable its just their capital structure that ruined the sentiment

Analyst share prices don't account for a control premium - hence $10 looks about right.
