RE:RE:RE:RE:CanSiamcypI am glad to see a bb with smart discussion ongoing. On the private funds I believe the term is high net worth investor (or similarly worded) and dont quote me on the details but that requires a networth (5 million), or invested assets (1 million invested assets) minimum in order to invest in them. 

I bought NXR recently with the industrial purchases and focus. This wouldnt even by on my radar if it didnt have the industrial transactions. Assuming the demand for industrial properties and the transactions with the London vendor continue I am bullish on the future.

Going to jump in mid conversation as someone with just under 5 years investing and add a couple of things I have done or have learned from mistakes.

There are a large number of stocks out there and I have used stock screeners to look at TSX listed stocks to do further due dilligence on. 

Look for high quality companies that can grow and can continue to increase their dividend. I had read something about yield on cost that the globe and mail wrote that showed on a 2009 purchase your yield on cost of CNR would be higher than BNS.
