RE:RE:RE:RE:Multi lateral wells and other plays.....Baytex will likely talk about this soon in either press release tomorrow or the next investor presentation...I think BTE has some good news to share from Llyold...
So even in 2021...most of the heavy oil wells drilled in Sparky zone by Surge, Baytex, etc are done same way....just 4 to 6 well pads...of invidual horizontals done with really shallow rigs.
I was beginning to give up as I was started to think maybe a reason for no mutli laterals in Sparky zone....
But Baytex did both a normal 4 well pad of horizontal wells and they did a 8 mutli lateral well.....
First multi I have seen on sparly like this. They used a precision rig that is back in clearwater drilling for delta stream,
Both of these wells were spud in June of 2021.
The wells in the pad come on at like 100 barrels of oil a day in first month and quickly got down to 30-40 after 4-5 months.
The mutli lateral well was crazy good....
The well came on at 400 barrels oil a day and at month four it is at 300 barrels oil per day.....
and it looks like only 4 of 8 laterals they are producing from.
This well had some down time but still at 35000 barrels produced and it came online in sept.
That is pretty same amount of oil cumulative prdouced as nearby sparky wells that have been producing since january 2018...lol
Multi laterals are going to be a game changed in heavy oil.....
Sure Baytex will do more multi and less standard horixontals.....
Same with others....
Heavy oil production could increase alof by Dec 2022 for alot of these companies.
Technology is better.
