RE:RE:An unexpected opportunity

RE:RE:An unexpected opportunityH, it can be disappointing to miss a sale, but it sounds like you are stocked up already.

With so many near term oil positives on the horizon, I imagine you'll forget out it in no time.

The next OPEC meeting is Oct 5 if I remember correctly - next Wednesday.

Last time OPEC put out the clear message that they make their own decisions, and are not controlled by Biden.   The paper-market didn't seem to pay attention.

This time OPEC may send a message that gets a bit more of a reaction.

And then there is hurricane season - looks like about 500,000 boe shut in as of now thanks to Ian - it likely won't be for long - but may be a week.     That may be 3-4 million barrels that don't make it to the US this week.    That would mean a tight looking EIA report the following week.

And what is going on with the Nord Stream Pipelines?    It sounds like intentional undersea damage in 3 locations, on two different pipes.     Its hard to see those on either end wanting that.    Fixing that underwater damage is not going to be easy.    If it wasn't Putin, and if it wasn't the Germans - then who was it?    And what else might they sabotage next?

Was it the Ukrainians?   Was it environmental extremists?     Was it rogue Russians?    Was it a cruseliner an anchor malfunction?   I've no idea - but I think its a big deal.

This is completely different than mixing up paperwork on a compressor - that would suddenly get straigthened out if certain sanctions were lifted.

These pipelines are multi billion dollar assets.    You might come up with administrative reasons why you can't meet contractual obligations - but you don't wreck them.

This has a sense of permanance about it.

I think its difficult to damage a modern gas pipeline on the bottom of the ocean.    Anyone capable of doing that, could do something similar to an oil pipeline.

Any unexpected disruption to oil supplies will be felt - and make it harder for Biden to drain the US SPR.

I don't think this sale will last long.    I've got my fingers crossed its still happenning on Friday because it will mean no Q3 bonus subtracted out of the Q3/22 results.
