Good article on seismic events and water disposal

Good article on seismic events and water disposal

According to petroninja the subject OBE water disposal well is about 8 miles away from a BTE injector.    The BTE injector looks like it's about 1000m shallower.   It's interesting that the OBE injector can be distinguished from the BTE injector given there apparent close proximity

Satalite images of the OBE site show a very small facility

If the data is correct, it must be bad luck this water disposal injector is problematic

I suspect they'll cut back on water injection volume and shorten the well

Looks like they have one water disposal well for each cluster of horizontal wells - ie plenty of other places to dispose of water    They probably also have lots of old wells nearby that could be converted to a disposal well

The following article in Science gives some details on water injection triggered seismic events
