I havent talked about this for awhile, but as companys near OBE willy green land drill in other formations and hit sucessful wells...OBE reserves in oher formations on their central Alberta land could have viable economic new reserves as better drilling technology.
Belly river wells near will green land being drilled in only 5 metres of net oil pay but the rigs can place the drillbit so perfectly now...been very good results recently.
I think was a fall 2023 land sale that some duvernay only rights over some of the eastern willy green land that OBE has cardium rights over...sold...but it was buyer was a land broker so dont know who won the auction. Not impossible that OBE looked at it, nobody knows yet.
But zones like belly river being shallowerI think OBE may own some in willy green,
OBE getting this from penwest the rights over OBE land are quite good on amount of ownership over formations. OBE for sure still has some deep rights as well. More north west in willy of where this duvernay sold.
I dont think market realizes any of the untapped potential in cental alberta...beyind cardium.
Value to OBE roads and pipleines and etc in willy green. Even lease sites they own. Because more than cardium that can produce in alot of that land. Infrasstructure can be used between formations.
Thats one of the reason tourmaline bought bonavista...BNE had infrascture built up over decades and owned duvernay rights. easy to grow that type of scenario and create value.
