Taking another look

Share holders and investors seem to be taking another look at recent developements and somewhat shaking off what many of us including myself considered bad news. I along with many long term shareholders were hoping for a nice big juicy buyout with premium. But alas no juicy offers were forthcoming from any of the big players even though Windfall is a world class project. But looking more closely there are some positives to the arangement which include partnering with a proven mine developer, avoiding heavy dilution of shares to raise money to develope on our own and being paid for all our investment and work to date.  At the end of the day going forward the mine development will be excelorated and with risising gold price cycle currently in play should be be profitable for all involved. But truthfully I was not looking to be a miner at this stage in my life and was really looking for the nice juicy buyout. GLTAL

better getting a mMiner, than taking wrong new opportunity. Should  get somewhat of a new bottom here. Nice to see, that OSK gets funding  for its works, like digging of parts of the tunnel.  For me, Ill keep my investment here, like many others.

Farmboy75 Me too ,I am dissatisfied with this offer. It is about half what the Great Bear Resources got from their project. They got 1,4 B $cdn. OSK Windfall project is about twice the Millions Oz projected for GBR. GBR ressources projected- total- 2,7Moz reserves plus 2,3 Moz inferred. TOTAL- 5 Moz.  In OSK Windfall, 4,1M oz reserves and 3,3 M oz inferred- TOTAL- 7,4 M oz. Plus 4 mOz silver, ...more

I'm not sure if that's possible - which is one more reason why this deal stinks.  The upside of the leverage of adding new ounces to the property was surrendered. That leverage, had they waited for an updated reserve tally, could have got the a long way.  The finding cost per oz was something like $45. If you assume 10 mm oz, they've given half of them away, plus any new ...more

So since Tuesday AM, GFI stock has risen 12.6% ($2), half of which can attributed to the rise in gold bullion since then, using GDX as a comparator. GFI has 891 mm shares, so the remaining 6% represents about $106 million.  Meanwhile Osisko is now flat since then, also reflecting the rise in bullion, but has dealed 50% of the project away for cash.  OSK should be up 6% just to keep ...more

The discrepancy will normalize with time, imo. Owners of OSK shares for the short term will get out and the long term investors in gold miners will buy the shares. There is good value in this deal. After searching for more than a year for a partner, it was most probably the best deal they could find. GFI, a seasoned gold miner,  is also taking a risk in this adventure, but if the reward, if ...more
