The use of natural gas in homes is coming under fire, after years of being touted by Canada’s energy industry as an ideal fuel in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
 
The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, or CAPE, is the latest group to criticize natural gas, calling for B.C. homeowners to switch over to electricity-powered appliances when gas-powered ones wear out.

This looks like physicians using their influence as health practitioners for other purposes. If this was about public health, they would be doing this across the country regardless of electricity source, as the main argument is the reduction in indoor particulates (despite the fact that particulates from the actual cooking of food is much more harmful). When they justify not doing it in Alberta ...more
