Gold up...Probe down

When Probe stock price was >$2 the price of gold was $1300 US. The price of Gold is now $1800 US and Probe is $1.35. Should we not be moving up with the price of gold?

"Should we not be moving up with the price of gold?" Not really.  Producers move w/POG. b.

What about ounce/enterprise value? Probes must be low single digits which would be now even more drastically below competitors. The fact is they have a drill program, expanding resource, and are well capitalized yet have lagged the market. They were cheap to begin with. Why isn't Probe moving? Any bears able to weigh in? The Angus stuff isn't a factor in this - the resource price tailwind ...more

If you look at page 17 on Probe's latest presentation you can see that Probe ( EV/oz $35) is undervalued compared to its peers (EV/oz  $62). You can conclude that there must either be something very wrong with the project or the stock is a great speculation. If there’s nothing wrong with the project, there’s an implied growth potential in the stock price, based on the difference between ...more

I also remember Probe Mines being severely undervalued. I remember it falling from $1.70 to $1.00 in 2012/2013 when it was over 3M OZ MI&I.

Rosehill1: Did you read the 'Save Canadian Mining' article this morning. There might be your answer on why Probe, along with most other mining stocks, is not moving. BTW, they have 2 very good projects, Val d;Or and Detour.

They also have a very good prospect in the Ring of Fire, right in the middle of the Noront land package.
Comment by Rosehill1 on Jul 15, 2020 9:54am
Ring of Fire! More like the Ring of Death. Shareholders of Noront have been stuck in that area since 2004. People have died waiting for a road to the Ring.
Comment by YoungInvestor89 on Jul 15, 2020 1:56pm
I guess. People die waiting for all major infrastructure projects in this country though. If ever there was a time, it would be now given the economy and the tailwind infrastructure spending would have on the economy over the next 5 years.  Noront has only really been "stuck" since Cliffs abandoned ship. Can't blame them either - the prior regime was not at all interested in ...more

Rosy .... yup but they gave Bob Rae ( crouching liberal hidden NDP) a ten year mandate ... that will be his 5 th pension Toronto  councillor,  premier NDP, international liaison 10 years mp 2 terms , and now a plumb ..... build a road already .... I have see what happens when a belly scraper goes across a First Nations blockade .... but I would pay for that !

I have read the article on Save Canadien Mining and completely agreee wtih the effort. I have no problem with the projects or Dave Palmer. I have a problem with the stock performance given the movement in the price of gold. I took money out of Probe and invested in both Gold and Silver stocks. All have doubled or trippled at this point. If I had left the money in Probe.........you know the answer. ...more

On September 12, 2016 Probe Metals hit a high of $2.17. On that day the price of gold was $1327 US. From that date the price of Probe shares have been on a slow decline. We have never hit that Sept. 2016 high. Today the price of gold is $1807 US and we have increased our reserves substantially. I know...we are undervalued...LOL. I have been invested in Probe Metals since 2015. I purchased close ...more
