Collingwood   own over 20% of the shares ?? must see a great future or whats the idea?   seems risky with interest rates at 5-7% and higher

Are you certain that they own that high a proportion? Cuz if they did they would have had to file a public notice stating that they had reached that threshold ... and I believe they would also be obligated to indicate if they were launching a takeover bid. Not 100% sure ... but I recall that Armoyan had to file multiple notices as he increased his % share of SOT.un units over time. Cheers!

They currently own 12 million shares of about 59 million public float.  Not sure if they can get funds to buy it out immediately they'd probably need a consortium.

Armoyan doesn't typically want to own the companies he invests in. He buys enough to have leverage on the board and then uses that leverage to realize fair market for his investment. Whether that is going private or breaking up the company shareholders are usually the winners. He is also quite happy to go slow if he can park his money for a good dividend.
