RE:Some interesting numbers on cost savings with Metal7's Very interesting information from the Competitor (Metal7) in the Induction Furnace Torch business.
If I was Metal7....I would be VERY concerned with my product line and future business.
While they have impoved upon 100 year old existing furnace burner technology, they are still back in the early 20th century. STILL BURNING OIL...lol, and heavy Bunker C at that!
Please read the link from THE COMPETITOR'S BROUCHURE.. the BEST advertisment for Pyrogenesis ever!
This only confirms PYR's Plasma Torches will be the industry standard, very soon.

Kind of fits with the numbers that Peter and the LKAB test have mentioned.
Except that in PYR's case, fossil fuel is eliminated 100%...and the savings are even greater than what Metal7 ststes in their Brochure.by switching from fossil fuel to hydro.
Now add in the Co2 reduction credits.
Also you can see from Metal7's brochure that a typical induration furnace has 20 burners.
Quote from the Brochure:
BENEFITS FOR OUR
CUSTOMERS
- The new 500L will reduce the total heavy oil consumption by over 12%.
Total estimated energy reduction of 496 MJ/h (or 470 563 BTU /h).
- Based on a typical induration furnace using 20 burners and based on an heavy oil
(bunker C) cost at $US 0,40/l, the estimated cost saving will be over $US 725 000 / year.
-Based on a typical induration furnace using 20 burners, the 500L will increase the furnace
capacity by 2,67% due to a lower AIR RATIO for induration (T air /T pellets).
Total estimated additional benefits of $US 2,2M / year.
- Based also on a typical induration furnace using 20 burners, the 500L will decrease the CO2 emission by 5 500 t / year.
The 500L will also reduce your NOX, resulting from our flame shape and our flame lower temperature.
I believe from their 'Map' reference that Irob Ore of Canada is a torch client of theirs.
