RE:RE:RE:400 Pounds Of Waste Per Hour: Aircraft Carrier

RE:RE:RE:400 Pounds Of Waste Per Hour: Aircraft Carrier @ElanS2, I don't believe your statement below to be factual regarding the power requirement requiring a nuclear reactor.

Most recent ships are Diesel Electric anyway nowadays, and those that aren't have inline shaft generators capable of producing more than enough electricity to power way more than the house load of old.

With almost all ships running 690v 3 phase there is more than enough ....

perhaps the install would need to wait for a refit or a drydock, and a refresh of the diesel electric generators to a quad set up of CAT 3500's....

But .... You fire up 4 of those bad boys....and they just puke power

The average bow or stern thruster likely pulls more than the PAWDS - especially on the initial start up current....

Just my opinion - but an informed on

ElanS2 wrote: All there ships ? Where did you get that ? All future aircraft carriers yes ! That is a lot less than all their ships.
It takes a ship with a nuclear reactor to have enough surplus electricity to power a PAWDS.
