Question regarding halt

If I put a buy order let's say 7% above the actual price and there is a trading halt about contracts, would my order go through ? Or they usually last all day and the next day it will gap up instantly because of after hours trading ?

Probably not. When halt is lifted, the starting point for the price is not where it left off and then a quick rise to new demand. Starting point is new and it could be 20% higher so your 7% premium doesn't count. But how do you envision putting in a buy order 7% above the ask and not getting an instant fill?

It would all depend on what price the stock opened up at, after the halt. Jmo

Correct me if I am wrong but, In this case I believe you are placing the order during a trading halt, so I believe it would occur right after the halt ends - similar to when the market opens in the morning.

Do not quote me on this, but I believe trading during a halt is no different than trading at midnight.\ or on the weekend. Cheers!
