Tata Steel

That's the problem with some posters.

If  one read the links carefully one will see that they are talking about

I read the Tata article and they clearly say replace 2 blast furnaces with electric arc furnace. Electric arc. So nothing to do with plasma torches. The article you posted about them working together involves existing blast furnaces. It is interesting information don't get me wrong I'd like to see PYR make a lot of money and hopefully that relationship expands in the future.  But ...more

And again this has nothing to do with iron ore pellitization patent PYR has for induration furnaces. Thats upstream of the blast furnaces.  If they can figure out a way to have their torches pierce the blast furnace market in the steel making process like mentioned in your articles that would be huge too. They could keep existing furnaces instead of destroying them and starting from scratch ...more

Out of curiousity, did anyone here recommend you to start reading tea leaves? How about a nice pack of Tarot cards?  Why won't these bashers ever learn.

the tech will be using 4MW plasma torches together with existing blast furnaces And what do one need to get the torches going? Correct.

We're arguing for different reasons I guess. You're talking about existing blast furnaces. Tata says they are switching those 2 for EAF. Not shutting them down to upgrade with plasma torches. Which is the first I hear or see of that, thanks for posting those links I found it interesting and hopefully something we see come to fruition one day.

Seems that here are also posters who can't read.  The patent is still pending

I can read fine. Tata are switching 2 blast furnaces for EAF. Algoma did the same and their project final cost will be close to a billion dollars once complete.  You think Pyr might have a hand in this Tata project? Thats ok you're allowed to think that way. I don't think they will have anything to do with these 2 blast furnaces to be switched to EAF. Time will tell who was right ...more

Not sure it helps, but I will add the following.  "Plasma torch" is mentioned in the article.  The slide show presentation gives a timeline of industrial deployment not starting to take place before 2030 so there is a lot of testing to be done. Another point for consideration is the naming of Tata Steel and SMS/Paul Worth.  The stuff is patent pending and obviously ...more
