PYR developed.  Is it now for hpq and qimc to provide?
Comment by Uncleron on Feb 23, 2024 12:21pm
82supra , this JV is between PYR and progressive planet that is testing the conversion of silica to amorphous  silica that the cement industry uses , it's called  " fly ash " ..This is presently produced from power plants that burn coal...Genesee 1 + 2 power plants outside Edmonton  AB  and the massive plant in Washington St provide over 1,000,000 tons of  ...more

Sounds like HPQ will be supplying the material for the conversion process  ?..if this is correct , then both companies are going to share any future news regarding this massive market....That's the best case scenario for those of us who hold shares in both companies....Ka ching !! ..$$$$$...a JV with Si metals and fumed silica will massively benefit both companies....All we need is the ...more

Qimc.v.. & ..Plan.v ....should also be big gainers when these JV's  become reality....both have very cheap share prices at present ...that'll change when news comes...Replacing fly ash use in the cement industry will require millions of ton's per year....This market is massive,  and the cement industry also needs 40,000 torches to replace the electric arc torches in use ...more

How do you get HPQ involved here?  What makes it sound like that?
Comment by StairwayTo on Feb 23, 2024 1:12pm
Like everything Pyrogenesis and HPQ are unleashing, nothing comes out of it.

Great update and very interesting work that PYR and PLAN are doing. @RobyK Interesting info from the Progressive Planet ($PLAN) News Release: "On January 27, 2022, Progressive Planet issued a news release announcing a collaboration with Pyrogenesis Canada to explore two different objectives including: To determine the feasibility of producing post-consumer glass nanoparticles. To ...more

At least we are getting some results from Pyro. That shows they are working hard to find solutions to various technical issues and plasma torch application.  Another huge market in the cement industries.

And keep in mind that only amorphous silica works to enhance the strength of concrete (and that is what PYR and PLAN are working on together). Great words from Stephen Harpour, CEO of PLAN, regarding PyroGenesis: "... I wish to ackknowledge the effort made by the technical team at PyroGenesis over the last two years to overcome hurdle after hurdle to reach the conversion rate of over 90 ...more

This amorphous silica is being developed to replace fly ash which is currently being used.  So, maybe amorphous silica is the only type of silica that can be used instead of suggesting it is the only material that can be used.  In that case, cement would be a new innovation.

@BCONTVentures Progressive Planet Solutions Inc.'s CEO, Stephen Harpur, presented at the Rivemont MicroCap Cocktail Event in May 2023. Great presentation done by Stephen. At the 22:00 mark he talks about what PLAN and PyroGenesis are doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrFmoWUEP9E+++ At the end of the presentation there are a couple of Q&As where he goes into more detail regarding ...more

Great post from @cargo regarding amorphous silica: @cargo For those interested here is a patent that attempted to produce amorphous silica from silica rich ore. IMO this is what PLAN is attempting to achieve (with quartz) thanks to $PYR. The ability to convert crystalline silica into +90% amorphous silica is a very important achievement. If you take the time to read the patent using ...more

They've been working at it for 2 years and now they feel the need to announce that the result should come in 50 days. Yep, typical, now we'll read about cement for the next 50 days and how great PYR will do.
