In case you were wondering
Wondering why the last trade price doesn't change when small trades go through at higher prices?
It's because a trade of two or three hundred sharesid an odd-lot.
The standard unit of trading is called a board lot and depends on the price of the shares.
A board lot for shares priced between ten cents and one dollar is one thousand shares.
Small odd-lot trades like two or three hundred shares are odd-lots and don't count, effectively.
There are lots of trades that aren't board lots.
This board is bored lots.
