Don't get it

I just don't get the wide variation between GBTC and QBTC.  GBTC is up 24% today vs QBTC which only climbed 14%.  The volume has increased a lot for QBTC but when you look at the price and the volume GBTC is still the winner.  Maybe its because a large hedgefund in the US will invest like $100M in GBTC over the next while?  Anyway, things look good going forward.  I follow Catherine Wood of ARK Investments and she is very bullish on bitcoin's future.  All the best, Charlie.

It's way more known and liquid.... qbtc is anew Canadian product while GBTC has been around for years in the states and is way bigger. But GBtC is a good road map for the kind of premium QBTC could grow in to over time. My only concern is the weekly capital raises. I understand they want to grow the fund but they need to do it in a more fair way for existing unit holders or atleast lint the ...more

Also as the fund grows each raise will be a smaller over all portion of the fund so the offerings at 0 NAV premium will be less consequential.

I think most investors in the U.S. are simply unaware that we have a stock market in Canada, let alone a Bitcoin fund trading on them.They want Bitcoin, but can't be bothered buying them directly, so GBTC is the only option they have and so they are willing to pay a higher premium. OTOH, anyone in Canada who knows about QBTC almost certainly knows about GBTC. I'm just happy we're ...more
