Haha..Breakout investors are the ones that said to MGT that an ATM would be a good idea. MGT needs someone to help guide them through the capital markets so they don't repeat the same mistake, An ATM was a terrrible idea. Period!  Anyway...made tons on my Quipt short and sold what I bought yesterday at a good profit today. It has been a really good trading year for me so far this year ...more

I'm not so sure that canceling the ATM to please some large shareholders was the right thing to do. In the long run the best thing for the company was to load up with cash or at least be able to do so quickly. It hurts at the time it happens but when the money is applied to an acquisition the company shares will perform better with the ATM in the pocket as opposed to doing a financing to ...more

It all boils down to the timing after the bought deal of $42.5 million, those who bought at that price understandably felt betrayed and had the ability to force managements hand. If they had no intention of immediate use (which they stated) then they should have waited at least one quarter before planning an ATM offer. IMO...It now seems necessary for management to issue a statement outlining their plans to strengthen shareholder confidence and address the concerns that have led to the selling pressure and decline in share price….they need to demonstrate their commitment to shareholder value and provide a clear outline of the steps they will take to address any underlying issues that have contributed to the ...more
