Roll up the rim contestI've heard many complaints from people who say they are not winning anything in the Roll up the rim contest this year. I was examining one of their cups recently and discovered that the rim at the back of the cup where the seam is located was rolled up already. Thinking this was just a factory issue and nothing else, I went to Tim Hortons later that day and discovered that that cup was also rolled up at the seam.
Continuing my little investigation I found that some stores had perfectly tucked rims while others did not. I carried my research a little further and discovered that the cups have a little hash mark about a quarter of an inch long under the rim near the seam. Is it possible that this hash mark exists only on cups that are not winners? Could this be a giveaway sign that can lead to abuse?
Since I haven't been able to find a single winning cup in the last few weeks (out of almost 100 cups) I have not been able to test my theory. If you get a winning cup, would you please roll up the rim at the seam and let me know if this little hash mark is found on the cup. That would allow me to know if the cups contain a production flaw that would allow someone to know if it is a winning cup or not.
Thank you.
