However, it seems to me that it is on the horizon and could come at any point. There is still a lot of hesitation, uncertainty and negativity about Wilan. We are trading at a very low valuation given the potential. But my sense is that there is a lot of money sitting on the sideline right now and a lot of fingers poised on the buy button. They are just waiting for some indication that things are turning around. And there are many things that could happen any day now. For example:
1. Marquise players - JS said recently that signing a marquise player could generate hundreds of millions in revenue for Wilan. Clearly, they are in the midst of working on a deal right now, and have very senior people at Wilan focused on it. If they are already at the advanced stages of a deal and are just waiting for a final decision from the organization, this could happen quickly. I think that wilan must be complete with its own due diligence by now. And what about the possibility of two marquise players?
2. 3GPP Case - Think about it. The claims construction is so strong that the defendants won't want to go to court on this. They know they will settle. JS has already indicated the offers are getting to a point that Wilan feels comfortable accepting them. It could just take a final compromise and a deal will be signed. I am sure Wilan has offered the defendants an incentive to sign before a certain time - how about sometime in December?
3. Patent peace - Some big players want peace. What if they decide to simply settle with Wilan for its whole portfolio instead of going through this headache over and over?
