Apple's Fake Logic

Apple claims that the royalty payment should only be a % of the cost of one particular component in it's iphones, as opposed to a % of the overall price of it's iphones. If the specific component in question were to be removed from the iphones, would Apple then reduce the price of it's iphones by only the cost of that particular component. What do you think? .
