RE:RE:RE:RE:VDSJusthalffull, your comments would almost make sense if the market for radar-based ITS systems were saturated, if such systems were effectively everywhere and the technology had so completely evolved that there was little scope for further improvements and new sales--and that most of what was left was maintenance and upkeep.

But my understanding is that we're not even close to that point and that, in fact, the evolution of this industry is just starting to accelerate.

The industry may be evolved enough that it would be a bad bet for IRD to try to catch up by developing radar-based ITS systems internally--and that it would make more sense for IRD to get into that sub-market by buying a company that is already at the leading edge. And guess what? That's what Quarterhill-IRD has just done.

It's hard to conceive of a Quarterhill acquisition--at the relatively small end--that would make more sense than this one.
