VDS

Some people here don't get how terrific this acquisition is. Big sales and EBITDA are great but what matters most is technology that's on point and that IRD cannot develop by itself. By broadening its range of product offerings VDS should strengthen IRD's position generally in terms of selling many types of ITS systems.
Comment by Justhalffull on Apr 28, 2021 2:59pm
Technology they can't develop themselves.  Lol.   Photo radar jas been around in Canada for at least 20 years.  You don't have to develop it.  You can buy it off the shelf.
Comment by mrmoribund on Apr 28, 2021 4:47pm
"VDS's devices are currently the only radar-based products certified under new regulations in Germany that enable direct enforcement of traffic violations." Not all radar is the same and this is no small accomplishment.
Comment by Justhalffull on Apr 28, 2021 6:49pm
Who cares about what is ok in Germany.  We are in Canada, and many, many cities in Canada already have Photo Radar and Red light cameras, including Toronto, the largest city with over 5 million people within 1 hour of downtown.  This is a ruse.  A technology company paid $2.5 million for a small German company who had 2019 revenue of less than $3 million in 2019 revenue, and tries ...more

Your name should be justhalfempty. Very pessimistic views.
Comment by Justhalffull on Apr 28, 2021 11:00pm
In the case of this ridiculous waste of shareholders money, pessimistic would be the most positive adjective you could dream up.  Despondent would be more appropriate.  What A sad excuse for effort from this overpaid, over-hyped CEO.

This is a guy who MOST definitely never drove a BENZ or AUDI!  HALF empty your products  designed and built here could never be sold in Germany or EU just not up to spec! You did vote BIDEN right?
Comment by Justhalffull on Apr 29, 2021 7:46am
Well fortunately, I don't get to vote in the USA.  Thankful for that. But as for products designed and built here, not sure where here is, but I can assure you there are many, many manufacturers of highly sensitive and effective traffic, speed and violation monitoring cameras and sensors in the world.  The fact that they are not sold in Germany tells you nothing.  They may ...more

Then please list us ALL comparable manufacturers products ready and avalable in CANADA OR US  for GLOBAL SUPPLY!  Meaning approved globally! The german products are!! I travel europe because I  am from there, road ,traffic technology is 5 years ahead of north america and you can check that mr half empty...... Waiting............

Sheet even my Honda Accord has the ability to read speed limit signs, read lane separation lines, sense objects in or about to enter its path.  Look up your own manufacturing info if you want it.  Try a google search, heard it was a pretty good  technology for looking things up.  Try putting in Speed detection systems.  And spend a few days researching all the companies ...more

Thank you Mr. Halfempty. I think we are done here. Have a nice day.

And I'm glad to hear European road technology is so far ahead of North America.  Guess that's why VDS has such huge revenue numbers, supplying all this leading edge technology all over Europe.  $2,900,000 for 2019, pretty impressive.   IRD's deal with NY state was $15,000,000.  Im not here to debate who has the biggest joint on the block.  I'm here to say ...more

halfempty, of course its not a big revenue generator.  While the financial metrics are very good and the opportunities for VDS technology to access global opportunities rise substantially under the IRD brand, the announcement was also intended to communicate to the market that QTRH is serious about aggregating ITS assets.  Just my opinion.  While small, there have been two such ...more

I agree with cabbieJBJ!

Let's also consider other benefits with the VDS acquisition, which are the synergies between the various ITS companies within QTRH. Between IRD, Sensor Line GmbH, and VDS they can share technology, sales teams and industry/government contacts. Having a local presence will show further commiment to the Europe. Over the next 1-2 years we should see further sales of IRD WIM systems/products in ...more

Is it Just half full or just hate full??? German products are sought after world wide...photo radar is a natural tack on for IRD. Patience will prevail

Any maybe you just have a big, cowardly mouth too afraid to say this to my face. In any event, you have been reported to Stockhouse for abusive and hateful posting to me. My father told me a long, long, long time ago, HATE is a four letter word.  You should learn.

Wow!  little cry baby got triggered.....  please take a nap and don't come back! Fricking unbelivable you are half of  half..
Comment by mrmoribund on Apr 29, 2021 9:39am
Justhalffull, your comments would almost make sense if the market for radar-based ITS systems were saturated, if such systems were effectively everywhere and the technology had so completely evolved that there was little scope for further improvements and new sales--and that most of what was left was maintenance and upkeep. But my understanding is that we're not even close to that point and ...more

How ridiculous your statement is.  Leading edge?  How do you know that.  Please enlighten us.  Leading edge technology companies do not have revenues of less than $3 million, and sell the whole lot for $2.8 million.  Embarrassing should be Hills thoughts on this game changing event.
